This presentation provides an overview of NFPA 61: Standard for the Prevention of Fires and Dust Explosions in Agricultural and Food Processing Facilities.  


This presentation describes the technology, the mechanism by which it manages and prevents fires and dust explosions in facilities handling agricultural and food processing.


Chris Aiken serves as corporate Process Safety Leader at Cargill, a provider of food, agriculture, financial and industrial products. In this role he leads a team that is responsible for Process Safety across Cargill’s 1,500 diverse locations in 67 countries.


As the Process Safety leader of Cargill, Chris plays a key role in shaping Cargill’s corporate process safety improvement strategy and priorities.


Chris currently serves as a member of Center for Chemical Process Safety (CCPS) Technical Steering team, CCPS Project Planning Committee, NFPA 61: Standard for the Prevention of Fires and Dust Explosions in Agricultural and Food Processing Facilities and the NFPA Correlation Committee for Combustible Dust.
