Overview: The May Minnesota Chapter of SFPE event will be brought to you again via webinar! This is a free event to attend for members and nonmembers, please feel free to forward to those who may be interested in attending.
Effective fire protection in cold storage occupancies is a multifaceted challenge. It requires a deep understanding on the fire risk posed by the contents you are seeking to protect and the methods you choose to store them. A systems approach - the right valves, gas supply, detection, water delivery, and automatic sprinkler design - are critical elements to assuring successful and effective protection. This program aims to explore each of these areas and provide insight into the decision-making process that will aid you in making the best choice to protect your clients businesses.
Presenter: Johnson Controls - Mark Fessenden, Director, Industry Relations: For over 25 years Mark has been involved with the manufacturing of active fire protection systems. His experience includes water based systems (automatic sprinkler, water spray fixed systems, and watermist) and special hazard systems (clean agent, CO2, wet chemical, dry chemical, and foam). His focus has been in the development of the new technologies, codes & standards, technical services, and training. He holds three U.S. patents in automatic sprinkler and fire alarm technology. Mark is a member of numerous NFPA Technical Committees and serves as Chairman of the SFPE Committee on Professional Development (CPD). He is also Vice President of the Wisconsin Chapter of SFPE. He serves on the Board of Director for both the NFSA and IFSA. Mark was the 2017 recipient of the NFPA Industrial Fire Protection Section Fire Prevention Award. Mark has B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from New England Institute of Technology and an MBA from Corban University.
