WEBINAR - Chapter Elections NFPA 915 Remote Inspections, Where They Are Today and Where They May Go

Overview: The May Minnesota Chapter of SFPE event will be brought to you again via webinar! This is a free event to attend for members, please feel free to forward to those who may be interested in attending. The business portion of the meeting will feature chapter elections. Please come prepared with nominations and to vote.

Presentation Description: In April 2019 the NFPA appointed a technical committee to develop a new Standard on Remote Inspections. Since August 2019 the committee has held several development meetings to turn the scope approved by the NFPA Standards Council into a document ready for public review. This presentation will cover the history of the proposed standard and present the outline as it currently exists. It will then explore the possibilities for remotes inspections from an AHJ's perspective, the challenges and concerns from a contractor's perspective, and the overall risks and rewards of using this technology as we know them today. The potential use of NFPA 915 for the performance of periodic inspections required by other NFPA standards will also be discussed.
